Traveling by bus

Hello. My friend and I are traveling to Vietnam by bus. We are from Denmark, and will stay in the country for 11 days. Hence, I know that we are not required to get a visa, if we travel by plane, but does the same apply if we cross the border by bus? Thank you in advance
