Since 2003 Vietnam Government has granted the visa on arrival, which means you can submit visa form wherever, whenever you access our website and pick up your visa when you arrive at any Vietnam international airports. This visa is exactly the same as a visa issued by an embassy/consulate, with the same limitations and conditions attached to its use. It's also cheap, quick and more easy than getting visa from Vietnamese embassies/consulates.
The visa on arrival paperwork is not a full visa, it is a pre-approval letter issued by Vietnam Immigration Department. And with this letter, you are allowed to board on the plane and get your visa stamped when you land. Visa on arrival becomes one of the most convenient ways to get a visa to Vietnam without having to chase-down embassies, consulates.

Besides, there is something you should take note:
- Visa on arrival only applicable at three Vietnam international airports (Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang). It cannot be used if you arrive by cruise or land border crossing.
- Actually, waiting time at Vietnam airport just take 15 - 20 minutes. However, it can take longer based on the time and the number of people arrives at same time when you arrive.
- The pre-approval letter is often issued by group basis – so you can see the name, passport number of other applicants on the same letter.
